Blog Post #12: Notre Dame Community

  1. What did you find interesting about the history of the Sisters of Notre Dame?
  2. What is something that you heard from the Alumnae Panel that stuck with you and why?
  3. What does it mean to you to be a part of the Notre Dame Community?
  4. When you leave Notre Dame High School, what do you think are some values that will stay with you?

When I heard our school was boarding school, I think that was great. I like boarding school because I was in boarding school before. If it still is boarding school, I think would live in the school. But now the school cancels this, I think the school wants us can have more communicates with our families and make more friends outside.

When I heard the school is all-girl school, I like it because I have never in the all-girl school to study. From primary school to middle school, I was in the co-ed school. So I want to try to study in a all-girl school.

It means when I am a part of the Notre Dame Community, I am comfortable to be myself. And I like to stay in the Notre Dame. The teachers and students are kind to me.

I become more outgoing, friendly, optimistic in Notre Dame. So when I leave Notre Dame, I will still be optimistic to face everything and friendly to everyone. Because of everyone who in Notre Dame is nice to me, that I also will be nice to other people.

Blog #11

From this project, I think the Crusades was interesting. It talks about the Christian attempt to win back the Holy Land. Islam gained control of the Middle East, including the Holy Land in the seventh century. Then they began to crusade. After six crusades, they got their Holy Land finally. They made a right choice that to win back the Holy Land because the Holy Land is belong them. They tried their best to win back the Holy Land even thought many people died. I am so proud of them. But I think they can use some peacefully ways to win back the Holy Land, that would not many people die.
 The Crusaders.

Frederick II led by the sixth Crusade. Because of him, they ended the crusades. Frederick II was able to achieve transfer of Jerusalem to the Crusades through peaceful negotiations. And then finally they win back the Holy Land.

I want be a person who help country and people a lot. I helped country to be more stronger and people have a good life. I want people can remember that I help them a lot.

After one thing, I will grow up a little bit. One day, I fall down in the park. My legs hurt, and then I cry. My mom told me that cry is useless, I still need to stand up and then keep going.  So next time when I fall down, I know I cannot cry and I need to smile to face it.

Blog #10: Marian Apparitions and Resilience

From the Marian Apparition project, I know Mary is a real person. Her right palm bled from a wound that had the form of a cross. And then people confirmed that the blood, tears, and perspiration were real human tears, sweat, and blood. She is Jesus's mother. Because of her, it had Jesus in this world. And Jesus can heal us and help us. Mary gave Jesus life, and Jesus gave us lives. Then we need to thank to Mary that She gave birth to Jesus.
The wooden statue of Mary.

I think she wanted let people know that she was in the world and she is a real person. And she also wanted let people know believe her and believe God. She let the people who believe God to tell people who do not believe God to believe God. That's her goal. Then people follow her and she guided people toward the right path. When people had some problems, she would help people and then let them to choose a right choice.

I think myself as being resilient. I will stick to my own choice because I know destiny is in our hands. We cannot do some let our repentant things. If I have some difficult things that I cannot solve, I will ask my friends and parents. They will give me some advice and then I will think about their advice. Finally, I will have my own choices. I cannot give up my goals. I think I will keep going for my goals. A day when I do, I will very proud of myself.

Blog #9
The apostles need to propagandize knowledge about Jesus to everyone. The still need to believe Jesus even though others don't trust Jesus and not like Jesus. They don't have any choices. And they need to follow Jesus. But when they were imprisoned, the God will heal them.
I think the story in Act 14:8-19 that I find most inspiring. The story is about a men, he is a cripple. He walks very hard. Then the God heals him. The God encourage him and let him stand up. The man try his best to stand up and walk. Finally, he can walk better than before. The God is kind to everyone. If one has disease, the God will heal him even though he is a bad guy. And the God gives everyone a good life. One time, I argued with my friend but I forgot why I argued with her. She always says somethings and let us feel sad. We don't very like her. When I argued with her, I don't know how to talk with her. She can argue with anyone all the time if one doesn't stop arguing with her. So I clam down and stop to argue with her and walk from her. As long as one side of a person stop to argue, that this thing will stop.
If I have some problem that I can't solve, I will pray for the God and ask my friends for help. I know the God always help us and heal us. I will ask my friends who I trust because they will not cheat me.

The group project can let me know many Jesus' disciples. To become Jesus' disciples is not a easy thing. They need to learn a lot from Jesus. They need to help other people and do something for the world. I think we should like them. I think James the Greater is interested. He has many occupations and these jobs are funny. His jobs are veterinarian, equestrian, furrier, tanner and pharmacist. One day, he were fishing with his father, but they had not caught any fish. Jesus looked at them and let them put the net in the water again. After that, they caught many fish. James the Greater became Jesus' disciple.

 James the Greater

The people who follow Jesus must be wise “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” ( Luke 2:52 ).  “Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me” ( Mosiah 26:30 ).  “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love” ( John 15:10 ). They also must be obedient and forgiving. I think I am obedient. When my parents let me to help them to do something, I will follow them. Because I know I am a student and child, I need to do more thing for my parents. My parents let me do things, the things must not bad things. That I can have more experience.

In my opinion, I think our lives would look like pretty good if we follow the Beatitudes. That people will become nice and have no lies and conspiracy in the world.  And everyone will smile for her life. People can have no annoyance for that others who will hurt them. If we follow the Beatitudes, we need to help people who need to help. And we need to do more volunteers. If one got disease, we should help him. Although our abilities are limited, as long as we help others, that it is enough. We just try our best to help other people and let them feel better. We can donate money to the homeless people or patients. When we help others, we also feel happy. And we can't lie others and hurt them. We need to give up a part of money to help others. We don't need to give up a lot, but we should try our best to help them. I think we need to give up a part of our free time to care them. We can't also argue with our family and friends. We should care and help each other.

I think if we follow the Beatitudes and help others, it will like this picture and they feel happy.

I have been to the people who live in the poor areas. They are so poor. They look like mess and have no enough food to eat. When I saw, I felt so sad. I were thinking that why no one to help them and why governments don't help them to build good house that let them live. I know, I can't help them a lot. But I would try best to help them. When I gave some food to them, they smiled to me. At that time, my heart felt very warm. I also gave them money and let them can buy something they want. When I helped them, I also felt happy.

One time, my two friends were arguing, and I went to dissuade them. They argued for that they were disputing a seat. I didn't think that this was a big thing. If one can offered her seat to another one, that this things would be solved. At the beginning, they didn't listen to me. I tried my best to dissuade them. Finally, they were friendly with each other. At that time, I felt I am a peacemaker. And I was enjoyed for them.

These things are not easy to do. I think if we want to do one things, must be not easy to finish. We need to think about that and do hard. But if we try my best to do, I think we can do very well.
